272 Gunnersbury Avenue is a refurbished office building in Chiswick, West London. As part of the wider improvement works, the building’s communal and amenity spaces were upgraded to include a landscaped roof terrace, creating a high-quality outdoor area for occupiers.
MyDek worked with London Seamless Flat Roofing Ltd to provide a durable, non-combustible decking solution for the roof terrace.
A practical roof-terrace solution
Luxura Deck 200 in Hickory was selected for the terrace, combining the warm appearance of timber with A1 fire performance. Its through-colour mineral-composite construction provides a robust finish suited to a busy external amenity space, while helping to create a more welcoming setting at roof level.
The decking was installed on MyDek’s BoxRail support system. Designed for accuracy and flexibility, BoxRail provides a stable substructure for the deck boards while accommodating the build-up and detailing required on roof-terrace projects.
Specific Challenges solved
The roof terrace formed part of a wider refurbishment of an existing commercial building, so the decking package needed to complement the upgraded amenity design while providing a practical solution for installation at roof level.
Working closely with London Seamless Flat Roofing Ltd, MyDek supplied a coordinated Luxura and BoxRail system that brought together the deck finish and support structure. The result is a clean, timber-effect roof terrace that supports the building’s improved outdoor amenity offer, without compromising on non-combustible performance.
