The Luxura Deck Environmental Product Declaration

In April 2025, Luxura® A1 Fire-Rated deck boards achieved an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

This provides clear, third-party verified data on the environmental impact of Luxura across its full lifecycle, supporting informed specification, procurement and sustainability reporting.

What this means in practice

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardised, independently verified document that quantifies a product’s environmental performance using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Luxura’s EPD:

  • Is verified in accordance with ISO 14025
  • Is based on a full cradle-to-grave LCA
  • Makes environmental impacts transparent, comparable and auditable

For specifiers and assessors, this replaces assumptions with evidence.

What the Luxura EPD covers

The EPD provides quantified environmental data across recognised lifecycle stages, including:

  • A1–A3: raw material extraction and manufacturing
  • A4: transport to site
  • C1–C4: end-of-life processing and disposal
  • Module D: potential benefits beyond end of life (reuse or recycling)

Key impact categories include:

  • Global warming potential (CO₂e)
  • Energy use
  • Water consumption
  • Resource depletion

All data has been independently reviewed to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Why this matters for your project

Confident specification

The EPD allows Luxura to be assessed alongside other construction products on a like-for-like basis, using verified environmental data rather than marketing claims.

Support for sustainability frameworks

EPDs are commonly used to support:

  • BREEAM assessments
  • LEED credits
  • Client ESG reporting
  • Public-sector and framework procurement requirements

While EPDs are not yet mandatory in the UK, they are increasingly expected on complex and higher-risk projects.

Transparency without trade-offs

Luxura combines:

  • A1 fire performance
  • Long service life
  • Independently verified environmental data

This removes the need to choose between fire safety, durability and sustainability transparency.

How professionals use the Luxura EPD

  • Architects and consultants use it to support material selection and embodied carbon assessments
  • Contractors use it to respond to tender and framework requirements
  • Developers and asset owners use it to evidence sustainability credentials and future-proof specifications

The EPD does not replace regulatory compliance or professional judgement. It provides the data needed to make those judgements properly informed.

About Luxura®

Luxura® is a mineral-based, A1 fire-rated decking system suitable for use on balconies and terraces where non-combustible materials are required.

Its fire performance is inherent to the material and does not rely on surface treatments or coatings.
