At MyDek, we believe in the power of giving back and supporting causes that significantly improve lives and communities. Since our inception, we’ve embraced a culture of philanthropy that not only involves our entire team but also amplifies our contributions to create a larger impact. Today, we’re excited to share a glimpse of our journey in supporting various charities and the collective difference we’ve made over the past two years.
The Culture of Giving at MyDek
Our approach to charity is driven by a collective decision-making process. During our All-Hands meetings, staff members participate in a poll to select a charity. Following the selection, employees are encouraged to donate what they can to the chosen cause. What makes our initiative unique is the commitment by ATW Group to magnify the impact of individual contributions by 10Xing the total amount donated by staff. This model of giving has evolved from monthly selections in 2022 to quarterly selections in 2023; an adaptation which enhances our support’s significance and reach.
How We’re Making a Difference Together
Since the beginning of 2022, our team has raised a total of £34,326.67 to support a number of charitable causes. These include:
- Help for Heroes: Supporting UK armed forces and veterans.
- Little Princess Trust: Providing real-hair wigs to children and young people who lost their hair to cancer.
- WILSAR: Offering volunteer search and rescue services.
- Prostate Cancer UK: Funding research to fight against prostate cancer.
- Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH): Providing world-class care to young patients.
- Bliss: Supporting babies born premature or sick.
- Key4Life: Reducing youth reoffending through innovative rehabilitation programmes.
- Mind: Promoting mental health awareness and support.
- Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity: Providing financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families.
The other charities we’ve supported include vital organisations like Milestone School, Make-A-Wish, Cry, Air Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer, Heart Foundation, Cardiac Risk, Whizz-Kidz, and Centrepoint.
